Catena Media has announced Manuel Stan as its new CEO, effective from 1 July 2024.

Stan will replace the outgoing Michael Daly who resigned last week with immediate effect. Pierre Cadena, VP of corporate strategy at Catena has assumed the role of interim CEO until Stan takes over.

It remains unclear if Cadena will revert to his old position when Stan assumes his new role.

Stan previously spent 16 years at Kindred Group, where he led marketing teams and served as senior vice president of North America. Catena noted that he played a core role in “shaping the group’s affiliate marketing programme”.

Back in November 2023, Kindred announced its full exit from North America by the end of Q2 2024 and 300 jobs were cut in a cost-saving review. This came before DFJ tabled a €2.45bn (£2.10bn/€2.45bn/$2.67bn) offer to acquire the Kindred Group.

“I am delighted to have this opportunity to drive Catena Media forward on the next stage of its journey as the group takes on new challenges while further advancing its presence in North America,” Stan said of his new role. “This is a strong business with talented employees and I look forward to working with the teams to capitalise fully on the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Göran Blomberg, Catena Media chairman of the board of directors, highlighted Stan as the outstanding candidate among its considered list of names. “

He is a leader with proven leadership skills and wide-ranging experience within our industry,” said Blomberg.

“His close knowledge of the North American market and of both the operator and affiliate sides of the business will be a significant asset for Catena Media and our North America-focused organisation as we begin this new chapter for the group.”
