Jonas Ödman is the General Manager of Global Poker, a social online poker site owned by Australian company VGW.
Ödman is an online poker industry veteran who is famous for sending shock waves through the iGaming industry in 2009 with the Recreational Poker Model that he presented at EiG Copenhagen. The model that Ödman pioneered has since become the industry norm.
Ödman started his career in the industry at the Ongame Network in 2004. At the time Ongame was the largest poker network in the world and was sold to Betandwin in 2006 for 500m Euro. Ödman then co-founded Gnuf, a Malta based poker and casino operator on the Microgaming network, which later merged with sportsbook Betway, becoming the Betway Group. In 2009 Ödman joined the Bodog Network and launched the Recreational Poker Model which saw Bodog rocket from being listed as the 25th biggest poker room on Pokerscout.com to becoming the 3rd biggest poker room in the world.
As one of the thought leaders of the industry Ödman has been invited as a speaker to a number of conferences in Europe, North America and Asia over the years.
