Data Engineer

The role

 

The Data Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the organisation's data platform, with a focus on data sources, data pipelines, integrations and data reliability.

 

The role involves working to build and improve data solutions, troubleshoot issues and ensure data is available, reliable and fit for use across the organisation.

 

What you'll be doing

Develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations.

 

Connect and manage data from internal and external sources.

 

Build and maintain data transformations and data models.

 

Monitor pipelines and resolve data and platform issues.

 

Implement data quality checks and monitoring.

 

Maintain and improve data platform infrastructure and processes.

 

Document data sources, pipelines, and solutions.

 

Work with analysts, developers, and other teams to understand data requirements.

 

Contribute to technical standards and best practices.

 

Identify opportunities to improve the reliability, performance, and automation of the data platform.

 

Who we're looking for

Education / Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.

 

For Serbia - 5th or 6.1th level qualification per the National Qualifications Framework of Serbia (NOKS).

 

Experience:

3–5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, data platform engineering, software engineering, or a similar role.

 

Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.

 

Experience working with databases, APIs, and other data sources.

 

Experience working with cloud-based data platforms is an advantage.

 

Technical Skills:

Strong SQL skills.

 

Good Python or similar programming experience.

 

Experience with ETL/ELT and data pipelines.

 

Experience with relational databases and data modelling.

 

Familiarity with cloud platforms and data services.

 

Experience with Git and basic CI/CD practices.

 

Familiarity with pipeline orchestration and monitoring tools.
