As Newsletters Editor, you will be responsible for the Racing Post's portfolio of email newsletters – including The Front Runner, The Edge, the Ultimate Daily and On The Nose – across racing and sport. You will commission from desk editors across the newsroom; edit, produce and write emails; and ensure our newsletters reach and engage a broad and growing audience of racing enthusiasts and sports bettors.
The role will report into the Head of Content and work closely with our Premium Editor, ensuring that our newsletters engage subscribers and complement our wider premium proposition. The position will also have responsibility for shaping the future direction of the newsletters portfolio, proposing and helping launch new emails, and working closely with CRM and marketing teams to convert anonymous users into newsletter readers and newsletter readers into subscribers.
What you'll do:
Own the quality, consistency and tone of voice of all our editorial newsletters
Own the newsletter portfolio, determining what we launch, retire and evolve, based on reader data, evidence of subscriber value and target audience
Commission newsletter content from our editorial teams, working with desk editors to secure the right contributors and quality
Write and edit newsletters, bringing a strong voice and energy to the product
Build newsletter capability across the department, coaching writers and desk editors in how to create lively, distinctive emails
Partner with CRM on newsletter timing, layout, segmentation and testing, bringing editorial judgement to experiments designed to optimise engagement and conversion
Drive the technical ambition of our newsletters, introducing features such as live odds and personalisation
Define what good looks like and work with colleagues in data and CRM to track it
Turn newsletter data into actionable insights for the wider newsroom to inform email content and strategy
Drive newsletter sign-up growth alongside Audience and Marketing teams, collaborating on the placement and language of sign-up widgets, registration journeys and on-boarding
Provide cover and editorial support for the Premium Editor as required

Confidence using performance data to inform editorial decisions and turning audience trends into concise, impactful reports
The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across editorial and the rest of the business, building trust and credibility
Able to set and hold editorial standards across desks without formal authority, and to make the case with evidence when challenged
Genuine interest in what data, personalisation and product development can add to email
Familiarity with Braze or equivalent email platforms – and with using them to conduct A/B and segmentation tests – is desirable
Knowledge of racing and betting is highly desirable
