The role
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the onboarding, review and maintenance of client records in accordance with Gentoo’s third-party risk management procedures as well as handling KYC requests received from clients.
What you'll be doing
Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
Collect, review and verify customer documents and information during the customer onboarding stage.
Conduct screening against sanctions, PEPs (Politically Exposed Persons) and adverse media lists using external databases.
Conduct timely customer risk assessments to determine customer risk ratings based on established criteria.
Ensure KYC files are complete, accurate and compliant with internal policies.
Ongoing Monitoring
Support periodic reviews and event-driven KYC reviews for existing customers.
Escalate any red flags to the Compliance Manager and follow escalation procedures.
Maintain up-to-date client records on Gentoo’s third-party risk management system.
Collaboration with Internal and External Stakeholders
Confident working with other internal teams (Sales, Finance, Legal) for the onboarding and maintenance of client records.
Ability to communicate with external stakeholders to ensure customer onboarding documents are received in a timely manner, are sufficient and assist in any questions they may have.
System and Process Improvements
Contribute to the continuous improvement of KYC procedures and workflows, including assistance with the set-up of systems.
Training and Knowledge-Sharing
Participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Compliance team.
Who we're looking for
Qualification in Finance , Risk/Compliance or Business Administration.
1–3 years of work experience in KYC or AML.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and knowledge of screening tools.
Self-driven and adaptable to change in priorities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Team player with good interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving internal processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
