The affiliate’s flagship brand Playmaker HQ has announced a new content partnership with BetMGM, which will sponsor its video podcasts Roommates Show and No Limit.

Launched by Better Collective in 2024, Roommates Show is a weekly podcast hosted by Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson, two of the NBA’s rising stars and backcourt duo of the New York Knicks, along with their best friend and college roommate, Matt Hillman, as the third co-host. It is one of Playmaker HQ’s most popular shows, boasting more than 127,000 subscribers on YouTube and a combined watch time of over 2.5 million hours. As part of the sponsorship, BetMGM branding will appear throughout the latest season, which began on 6 September, with integrated ad reads and promotional segments.

Debuting on 12 September, No Limit is a casino-focused podcast hosted by former NBA star Iman Shumpert, who has more than 2.3 million Instagram followers. Filmed at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and airing every Friday, the show features Double Down, where guests revisit past takes during blackjack and Aces Only, which spotlights standout career moments when a guest draws a BetMGM-branded ace.

Commenting on the show, Matt Schwimmer, Playmaker HQ CEO, said No Limit is “the next step” in the brand’s evolution as it expands into casino content and highlighted its mix of “entertainment, personality and unfiltered conversation in a way that truly connects with fans”.

“Our shows have always thrived because they’re hosted by dynamic athletes who bring authenticity and energy to every episode,” said Schwimmer. “We’re excited for everyone to experience it and grateful to BetMGM for being such a strong partner in making it happen.”

Casey Hurbis, BetMGM CMO, added that the content partnership reflects the brand’s “focus on talent-led media” and highlighted the two shows’ potential in driving audience engagement.

“Roommates Show blends sports, entertainment and culture in an authentic way that connects with a wide range of sports fans. Blackjack is a forever favorite of players and No Limit brings athletes to the table with a side of storytelling,” Hurbis said.

“The collaboration between BetMGM and Better Collective resulted in content that showcases the multifaceted relationship between an operator and a sports media group.”

Better Collective also recently launched its AI-driven betting assistant Playbook in the US to improve player experience and boost audience retention.
