Casino.org has announced that the former English footballer is joining as its exclusive UK and Ireland affiliate ambassador for 2026.
A striker for English clubs including Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United, Owen received the prestigious individual football award Ballon d’Or in 2001. Since retiring in 2013, he has become a regular sports pundit and was previously an ambassador for the crypto casino Punt. He has also just become a global ambassador of the prediction market platform ForeGate.
Launched in 1995 by Warren B. Eugene, the affiliate is one of the longest-running B2C iGaming publications on the web, with a footprint across more than 150 countries. Commenting on the partnership, Casino.org’s chief gaming officer Alexander Korsager said the ex-footballer’s “professionalism and credibility make him the perfect ambassador” for the affiliate’s UK and Ireland presence, as the brand looks to strengthen its foothold in the regional market.
Active on social media, Owen currently has 3.2 million followers on X. The partnership will see Owen feature across the affiliate’s UK and Ireland digital channels, including brand, social media and public relations.
