Raketech’s survey into the Swedish casino market has revealed that 75% of potential players believe Svenska Spel to be safer than licenced operators

The affiliate company conducted a full-scale survey into the market under its CasinoFeber brand, which operates in Sweden.

In the survey, three separate groups were gathered: active players in the last 12 months, individuals who see themselves playing in the future and ex-players who have been inactive for 12 months.

CasinoFeber also found that 62% of active players and 64% of ex-players believe Svenska Spel to be safer than licenced operators in the country.

The figure from Swedish players about Svenska Spel comes after the state-owned gambling operator had its monopoly position taken away in 2019. It was replaced by a licenced-based system that allowed commercial operators to enter the market.

In CasinoFeber's data obtained from gaming in 2022, LeoVegas came out as the most well-known casino site for all three groups. The provider scored 76% with active players and came second behind Svenska Spel for their favourite casino site.

According to CasinoFeber’s survey, 69% of active players in Sweden are male and 60% of players have yet to tell their partner about their gaming habits.

When it comes to financing gaming activities, the affiliate company also found that 11% of active players have taken out a loan in the last 12 months to play.
