Catena Media has announced that Sean Hurley will be joining its board of directors as a non-executive director.
Hurley will be filling the seat on the board that was vacated by Per Widerström in August.
The appointment will become effective pending “necessary filings” made between the affiliate and the Malta Business Registry.
Hurley’s time on the Catena board will run until the affiliate’s next annual general meeting, in accordance with the Maltese Companies Act and Catena’s articles of association.
The new non-executive director is based in the US and has over 13 years of experience in the online sports betting, casino and social gaming industry according to Catena in its announcement.
Hurley has been an advisor and angel investor for the last five years, but previously was the co-founder of American Affiliate and was head of sportsbook and afterwards head of commercial growth at DraftKings.
“Catena Media has entered an exciting new phase in its development and has a promising future ahead,” said Hurley on his appointment.
“I am delighted to have been asked to contribute my expertise as the company moves forward and further strengthens its position as a leading affiliate in North America.”
Recently, Catena announced that it was selling its Italian assets, with Oddschecker confirmed as the buyer of its SuperScommese brand. The sale was another step for the affiliate towards switching focus to the North American market as per its 2022 strategic review.
