iGBA London moving to Barcelona and iGB L!VE to London

iGB Affiliate’s flagship event is to move with ICE from London to the 240,000 sq m Fira de Barcelona from 2025, with July’s iGB L!VE event also moving from the Amsterdam RAI to London's ExCeL.

ICE and its co-hosted iGB Affiliate event will shift two weeks forward in the calendar from their traditional early February slots to run concurrently from 20-22 January 2025, while iGB L!VE will run from 2-3 July 2025.

The announcement follows an extensive six-month competitive process involving four potential host cities conducted by specialist agency Equimore, which found Barcelona to be the city best-equipped to be ICE and iGB Affiliate's future strategic partner.

Clarion Gaming MD Alex Pratt said: “The successful bid by Barcelona was notable for the scale of its world-class facilities, outstanding hospitality infrastructure, logistics, ROI for our customers and ability to scale.

“By forging a progressive partnership comprising the international industry, Fira de Barcelona and public and private stakeholders in Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain we have a huge opportunity to create an important legacy for the future.”

He also stated that it was “highly likely” that exhibitor costs would reduce due to the move. Clarion Gaming account managers will share venue contacts as the relocation process gets underway to help them understand the details.

With ICE and iGB Affiliate being the only major events taking place in Barcelona at that time, it has reserved a total of 40,000 hotel nights during ICE week 2025.

Pratt also thanked the team at London’s ExCeL for providing “an environment in which both ICE and iGB Affiliate were able to develop, meet the business needs of their stakeholders and grow in status as two of the most important live events in their respective sectors."
