We're looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who is familiar with, and enjoys working with Terraform, Octopus Deploy, AWS, Fargate and CodeStar, along with tools such as GitHub, CloudFlare, Pingdom and more.
You will report to the Senior DevOps Engineer ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance of our technical infrastructure, with a focus on automation, monitoring, and proactive problem-solving.
What you’ll be doing:
Infrastructure and Automation:
Manage pipelines for development teams using Octopus Deploy, including orchestration of infrastructure while keeping a DevOps as a service automation mentality.
Configure and Manage Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including AWS Provider knowledge and CI/CD pipeline to streamline deployments.
Develop and maintain scripts in Bash/Python for use in Octopus Deploy and our in-house tools.
Cloud Platform Management:
Manage our AWS platform (Faregate, RDS, CodeBuild/CodePipeline)
Manage our GCP platform for our internal product platform.
Monitoring and Reliability:
Utilize Monitoring tools for website availability (uptime) and latency monitoring, including managing and creating alerts to ensure a standard in Uptime SLAs.
Implement and manage Cloudflare for DNS, caching, firewall/page rules, Cloudflare Workers, security features such as Zero Trust and bot protection.
Systems and tools:
Manage source code using GitHub, including creation of repos, access management, source version control, and PR ownership.
Utilize MySQL for WordPress data backend, including running queries, backups, and RDS optimizations.
Domain and Security:
Oversee the company's domain portfolio and DNS solutions, ensuring optimal configuration, security, and strategic alignment including KPIs/OKRs.
Ensure robust server security across diverse hosting environments, protecting company assets and mitigating risks.
Collaborate with the Head of Cyber Security and IT to enforce cybersecurity best practices and other regulatory requirements.
Monitoring and main accurate and comprehensive records of domains, DNS configurations, and hosting solutions.
SEO and Optimisation:
Collaborate with the SEO Team and refine SEO strategies for domains and sites, minimizing footprint and maximizing online visibility.
Implementing and refining related asset ownership and service usage to optimise company costs.
The ideal candidate should have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is an asset.
2+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
Strong understanding of Technical Infrastructure, DevOps practices, and System Integration.
Proven experience in managing and automating cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP).
Good knowledge of IaC, CI/CD, and configuration management and orchestration tools.
Knowledge of Containerization principles, including Docker.
Good knowledge of domain management, DNS, SSL certificates, and related digital asset security.
Being able to collaborate with different departments is crucial within this role.
Excellent communication, ownership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges and make informed decisions.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Strong emphasis on Documentation -Documentation via code and runbooks is crucial.
Fluent in English.
Good to Have:
Experience in an iGaming or digital marketing environment is an asset.
Familiarity with security industry standards.
Certifications in cloud computing or DevOps (e.g.,
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) is an asset.
Knowledge of SEO principles and digital marketing.
Knowledge on WordPress, including WP Admin management, themes/plugins, and troubleshooting.
