As HR / People Partner St Albans, UK (hybrid)

We’re looking for an experienced HR / People Partner who’s passionate about building great teams and helping people thrive. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, founder-led digital business where you’ll have the chance to shape the People function from the ground up.

You’ll lead the People strategy, develop scalable people processes, and foster a culture that values trust, transparency, and continuous development. Your role won’t focus on recruitment operations, but you’ll be expected to define and lead the Talent strategy — ensuring the right people are in the right roles to drive growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and lead the People function in line with business needs and culture

Define and lead the Talent strategy — from employer branding to long-term team development

Design and implement HR policies, employee contracts, and bonus frameworks

Develop and maintain frameworks for career development and training

Own performance management processes and continuous feedback cycles

Drive succession planning and long-term workforce structure

Strong skills in stakeholder collaboration, change management, and persuasive communication.

Act as a trusted partner to leadership and a visible, approachable presence for the whole team

Stay updated on UK employment law and people practices

What We’re Looking For:

5+ years of experience in a People / HR role

CIPD qualified (or currently working towards certification)

Experience working in startup, founder-led, or digital environments

Strong understanding of UK employment law

Empathy, pragmatism, and a hands-on, proactive mindset

Someone who values team wellbeing, trust, and transparency

Experience working in a multicultural environment

Additional Requirements:

Must be based within a 45-minute drive of St Albans

Possession of a valid UK driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle

Must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship

Why You’ll Love Working With Us:

A genuinely friendly, collaborative, and supportive team

A cozy, welcoming office space in St Albans

A hybrid work environment built on flexibility and trust

Competitive salary and meaningful benefits

A chance to grow with a business that’s growing fast
