World Poker Tour Global (WPT Global) is launching its Poker Hero Challenge promotion today in partnership with the NFT studio Gamavrs. The promotion is giving away $20,000 in prize money and poker-themed NFT avatars (currently selling for around $450 on Opensea) that can be integrated directly into the WPT Global platform to unlock perks and access for holders. WPT Global has recently launched its highly anticipated online poker platform to 85+ countries and is pushing the innovation envelope with this unique NFT integration. “We’re very excited to partner with WPT Global, who have embraced the power of the blockchain and NFTs for its highly-anticipated online poker platform, ” said Meysam Moradpour, general manager of the Innovation Lab at Gamavrs’ parent company, A5 Labs. “Our Poker Heroes NFTs offer immutable transparency and elevated perks and access for players, which will hopefully elevate the already highly popular game of poker even further.”
How the Poker Hero Challenge works
- Sign-up on wptglobal.com and create a NEW account (only eligible for new users)
- Win a hand with seven two off-suit (Solve the Poker Hero Challenge*)
- Tag @gamavrs on Twitter, tweet “I’m a poker hero #pokerherochallenge”, and the social media team will get in touch with you to verify your claim in the system
- Ten winners will receive $1,000 in prize money (via draw) deposited into their WPT Global account and every winner receives a Poker Hero NFT (currently selling for $450 on Opensea)
*Required to play a minimum of 500 hands in order to claim prizes
NFT Poker Heroes avatars can unlock multi-table tournaments, online and offline events. These also include 100,000 freeroll tournaments, million-dollar giveaways, an exclusive members-only club and WPT Live events. Avatar holders also get to play at celebrity tables with WPT ambassadors – a list that includes Steve Aoki, Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan and many other poker greats.
This exclusive initiative was launched in April. A total of 9,999 avatars will be made available for purchase over the next few weeks. The next mint event is scheduled today for 2,000+ avatars.
