Meet the Manager: R2D Partners' Andrejs Proskurins

Andrejs Proskurins of R2D Partners takes us on his eight-year journey in affiliate management, from his successes – and challenges – along the way to building the team, growth trajectory and market presence all culminating in the launch of the new programme for the Leon and Twin brands.

How did you get into affiliate management in this sector? Did you know anything about igaming beforehand?
My journey into affiliate marketing started in 2015 when I was offered a role at Leon. Initially, I didn't have much experience with igaming as I had been working as a product manager in the IT industry, but I quickly learned and adapted to the new field.

Where are you based for work?
As we work with the whole world, we have offices scattered all over the place. However, where I currently am, the view from my desk combines the vibrant city and tranquility of nature, mirroring the balance we aim for in our work – energetic and dynamic, yet focused and serene.

I take pride in our team's collective journey through the years, we stand strong together

It’s fair to say that the path to true love doesn’t always run smooth between affiliates and programmes 😉. If you could change one thing to instantly improve relations, what would it be?
For us, our long-standing relationships with affiliates have been a rewarding journey. I wouldn't change anything, as this path has led us to where we are now, to our current positive reputation within the industry built on valuable connections.

What is the fundamental difference between R2D Partners and other brands on the market?
Our strength lies in our extensive market presence and the united team of the professionals. I am sure there are other companies that can brag about it too, but we do not spread our resources too thinly and we do not waste our talent on trivialities. We only choose impactful approaches and proven directions. I take pride in our team's collective journey through the years, we stand strong together.

You recently launched R2D Partners as the programme for your in-house brands Twin and Leon. How has this improved what you are able to offer affiliates?
The launch has significantly improved what we can offer to our affiliates with a broader presence in 15+ geos. Now, we provide personalised and brand-specific strategies, better support and more lucrative deals tailored to each affiliate's strengths and preferences. It's about fostering tailored and rewarding partnerships and making out partners feel supported and heard. We always had one of the best products out there but being able to provide a more personalised approach took it to the next level.

You are shortlisted for Rising Star in the forthcoming iGB Affiliate Awards. What does this kind of recognition mean for your team and business?
Being shortlisted for the Rising Star in the iGB Affiliate Awards is a testament to our team's hard work and innovation. It shows that we're doing something right and motivates us to keep coming up with fresh, innovative approaches. It's not our first recognition of this kind, but it is never just about our name appearing on a shortlist; it's a boost for our team and our whole business.

What are the most significant impacts of emerging technologies on your business and the wider acquisition landscape at the moment?
The rise of new technologies, particularly AI and machine learning, is making a big difference in our business and the broader acquisition landscape. These technologies help us predict traffic quality more accurately, prevent fraud, and enhance creativity, resulting in marketing strategies that are not only more efficient but also more effective.
