Collaborating with stakeholders, you'll build and maintain the data platform while ensuring performance, scalability, and compliance with best practices.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with business analysts, data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
Implement data ingestion processes to move structured, semi-structured and unstructured data from various sources into the data lake.
Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data into the data warehouse, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity.
Orchestrate and automate data workflows, ensuring timely and reliable data processing.
Implement data cleansing, enrichment, and normalisation to prepare data for downstream analysis.
Implement and manage real-time data streaming solutions, ensuring that real-time data is accurately captured, processed, and made available for immediate analytics and reporting.
Continuously monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise the performance of data workflows.
Manage and optimise a data lake, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and processing of large-scale datasets.
Develop data models and schemas within the data warehouse using dimensional modelling techniques to support analytical reporting and querying.
Implement best practices for data warehousing based on Kimball Data Warehouse Lifecycle methodology, ensuring data is organised, scalable, and performant.
Implement data partitioning, bucketing, and indexing strategies to enhance query performance.
Implement role-based access controls, encryption, and other security measures to protect sensitive data.
Contribute to the implementation of Data Lakehouse architectures.
Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance the existing data architecture and support Data Lakehouse use cases.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all data processes, pipelines, and architecture components.
Ensure that all data engineering practices comply with company policies and standards.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on back-end development, including building and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses in AWS/GCP environments.
Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data processing and automation.
Strong experience with managing and developing data workflows by using a tool such as Apache Airflow.
Proficiency in Amazon Glue or similar tools for ETL development.
Knowledge of real-time data streaming technologies, such as Apache Kafka, is a plus.
Experience with data lake and data warehouse implementations.
Familiarity with Data Lakehouse architectures and experience with tools like Google Big Query, Snowflake, or Databricks is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of AWS and/or GCP cloud data services.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose issues in complex data workflows.
Strong documentation skills with attention to detail in managing data processes and documentation.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processing pipelines.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering them on time.
Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies in the rapidly evolving data engineering landscape.
Willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data engineering, cloud computing, and data management.
