The Role
Legend is hiring a People Advisor for a 12 month fixed-term-contract, reporting directly to our Senior People Partner, based in London. We have a hybrid work set up, currently requiring just a minimum of 1 day at the office per week.
As our People Advisor, you'll be the first port of call for managers across multiple business areas, dishing out advice on employment matters and stepping into exciting projects along the way. You’ll work with some seriously smart People Partners, who’ll not only lean on you for support but also offer plenty of mentorship and wisdom (and probably a few industry war stories). We thrive in a fast-paced environment, and as a Partnering team, we like to think of ourselves as a close-knit and dynamic group of multi-taskers. Leaning on each others’ perspectives, celebrating our idiosyncrasies, and sharing learnings is part of our team’s day-to-day.
You’ve got some solid knowledge and confidence in providing basic to intermediate employee relations (ER) advice, and you’re comfortable with a bit of autonomy. You'll balance business needs with ensuring a fair and positive employee experience while making sure everything stays compliant with legal standards (and our policies!). Don't worry, we’ve got all the tools and resources you need to keep growing and sharpening your skills—but you’ll have to bring the proactivity and organization to keep your own workload in check.
Feedback? You’re open to it! Growth? You’re all about it! We’re not asking for perfection (we're far from it ourselves), but we are looking for someone eager to learn and evolve with us.
In this role, we value diverse perspectives, strengths and skillsets so we would encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every qualification listed. Team and company values fit is very important to us.
Your Impact:
Understand Complex Challenges: By developing an intimate knowledge of the business challenges and the factors influencing them, you will be well-equipped to provide meaningful solutions.
Data-Driven Insights: You will answer strategic questions by gathering and analyzing the right data, formulating hypotheses, and providing personalized, objective solutions to address organizational needs.
Clear Communication & Enabling Decision-Making: You will help others navigate complexity by communicating clearly, building strong relationships, and enabling teams to make informed decisions, even in your absence.
Facilitation of Strategic Conversations: Through strong storytelling and influence, you will empower stakeholders to understand and address critical talent and organizational challenges.
Strategic Guidance & Support: Whether it’s guiding senior leaders on strategy or helping new employees through their onboarding, you will be a trusted partner across all levels of the organization.
Empathy & Confidentiality: Your success hinges on building trust with teams, maintaining confidentiality, and showing empathy for individuals and the business as a whole, regardless of hierarchy.
Navigating Complexity: You will provide thoughtful advice in difficult discussions, helping to resolve conflicts and foster stronger interpersonal and team relationships.
What You’ll Bring:
Ideally (but not required) CIPD qualifications related to Employment Law for HR professionals specifically. More importantly you will have proven experience and some knowledge across a range of UK ER matters as an advisor or aspiring people partner.
A minimum of circa 2 years’ experience within a HR environment with proven experience of dealing with various ER issues (e.g. underperformance, occupational health, investigations, mediations) with some ease and autonomy - Don’t be discouraged if you have a bit less experience, it’s your working knowledge that matters.
High Emotional Intelligence

Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates high personal integrity
Comfortable navigating or mediating difficult conversations at times and complex interpersonal dynamics.
Good employee relations knowledge and ability to tailor it to the situation at hand
