London
7th - 10th February 2018

The London Affiliate Conference 2017 surpassed expectations (which were already high). Once again the organisers delivered an event that offered solid new business, as well as enhancing opportunity with existing partners - credit to the iGB events team, and the affiliate attendance that makes it possible. LAC sets the standard that other events should follow, and if we had to select just one event to attend each year, it would be this one.

What did you miss on the showroom floor

What did you miss on the showroom floor

Back to the Future, Frank De Boer, Dance-offs, Virtual golf, Jimmy Bullard the barman, beer pong, the Leicester Tigers... the list could go on. Here's what happened on the expo floor at LAC.

Published 17th February 2017

It would have been impossible to catch everything that happened at LAC and FPE 2017, but we did our best. We had our social media team strutting around the show trying to keep an eye on everything so that we could remind you of all the great stuff you may have caught and make you aware of some of the awesome stuff you might have missed. We made a special effort this year to catch all of the great stuff going on at the different exhibitor stands and get our team involved.

To avoid this list getting excessively long, we chose our top 5 highlights from around the show.

Before we get started, some honourable mentions have to go to Betsafe's TalkSPORT live, Redbet's Beer pong, MyBets Delorean, the jaw-dropping OVOCasino stand and every other exhibitor that went above and beyond to give our delegates a great experience.

5. Jimmy, Jimmy, sign my shirt!

We were excited to meet Jimmy Bullard at the BetBright stand but were impressed with the dedication of the above Hull City supporting affiliate who pulled out his jimmy Bullard shirt early on day one - that really is great pre-conference planning. The affiliate, whose name we believe is Simon, got to meet an idol and, thanks to the impeccable timing of our photographer Chris, we managed to get it all on camera. Cheers, BetBright and Jimmy and enjoy the shirt, Simon.

4. The Tigers stand with Leo (vegas) the lion

This is one that our team were gutted to miss, but once again, our photographer was there to catch the magic. A number of members of the current Leicester Tigers squad, including South African superstar JP Pietersen joined LeoVegas on their stand to meet delegates and answer any questions. The team presented LeoVegas with a fantastic squad signed Tigers shirt and received some branded goodies in return.

3. One Hundred and Eightyyyyyy...

William Hill provided us with lots of entertainment throughout the show with James Richardson interviewing Frank De Boer and the FWA panel taking place live on the stand. But, it was Russ "The Voice" Bray who stole our hearts - what is it about winning a t-shirt that makes taking part so much more enticing? Russ spent both days at the show calling out delegates scores as they had 6 darts to get over 101 (a feat that our very own James Hyder managed in just 3 darts, you can watch the video below)

2. Can you smell what The Beast is cooking

Ok, so we know that's The Rock's tagline but we couldn't resist, as soon as The Beast showed up we knew exactly why he was named The Beast... he was huge! Although we did later read that it may have been because of "la bete" - which sounds like Mark Labbett's surname - and is french for The Beast, either way, he deserves his nickname. The Beast was brought to the Gala Partners stand and spent an hour challenging lucky delegates to a game of The Chase. We broadcast the first competition on Facebook Live and the result didn't quite go the way we expected, you can watch the full video above!

1. Big Beacon's birthday boogie

A big shout out to Casumo for their Dance-off competition which would have been top of this list hands down, however, it was a joint effort from Affiliate Edge and Casumo that stole the show. We've all met Big Beacon, the iconic AffiliateEdge mascot who makes an appearance at almost all of our shows and charms the pants off of everyone.

Well, Big Beacon joined in the fun at the Casumo stand, taking part in the dance-off competition and busting some big moves in front of a huge crowd; unfortunately, Big Beacon had to be helped from the dancefloor after succumbing to injury during his dance (we are totally convinced it was a real injury...). What topped all of this off and convinced us the Big Beacon dance deserved to top our list was the fact that it was the real Beacon's birthday, what a way to celebrate.

We love how LAC can bring two brands together to such great effect. It's a real shame that we were unable to find a video of the historic event, if you have a video, we would love to see it - pop it on our Facebook and you will be one of the most loved people in igaming.
