Barcelona Taxi Numbers

There is a vast number of taxis available in Barcelona. Not only that, but they they are usually an easy alternative to public transport & not too expensive.

A 15 minutes journey will usually cost about 10 Euros. Licensed Taxis have to charge you the amount displayed on the meter, however if you are carrying extra luggage (ie. from the airport) there may be a small charge, usually a euro or two per bag. Rates will be displayed inside the cab.

Tipping is welcomed but not required. A tip of 5 to 10% of the Taxi fare is plenty and probably more than expected.

Official Barcelona Taxis are yellow and black. Watch our for the green illuminated light on the top of the Taxi - this indicates that it's available for hire.

If you're attempting to get around in the very heart of the city, a taxi may not be the best choice. Most of the city centre is pedestrianized and the roads that go through the centre can be quite small and congested.
